Investment Analyst analyzes and researches financial markets, securities, and investment products to assess risks, evaluate potential returns, and make informed investment decisions for an organization. Collects and researches economic data, financial metrics, and market conditions to develop and build financial models, forecasts, and investment strategies. Being an Investment Analyst monitors and analyzes portfolio performance, asset allocation, and risk exposure to ensure alignment with the organization's investment objectives, strategies, and risk tolerance levels. Prepares investment reports and analyses on investment opportunities or strategies to identify trends and recommend actions for the organization. Additionally, Investment Analyst utilizes mathematical formulas and statistical analyses to identify potential or alternative investments and calculate and evaluate financial health, returns, and fair value of securities, assets, or other investments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Investment Analyst work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. What We're Looking For
Bridgepoint Investment Banking is seeking an Analyst Intern with 0-3 years of experience in the fields of finance, private equity and / or mergers and acquisitions.
Bridgepoint offers a full school year analyst internship program, typically for college students who are sophomores, juniors or seniors. The Analyst Intern position at Bridgepoint provides a unique Midwest opportunity to work in a highly demanding, yet supportive, team-oriented environment with many of the same experiences as the full-time Analyst position, including:- Preparing marketing materials for M&A and capital raising engagements
- Conducting industry and company-specific research
- Identifying potential acquirors and capital sources
- Maintaining accurate records on funding sources and centers-of-influence
- Participating in the diligence of current and potential clients / prospects
- Daily exposure and collaboration with Senior Principals within the firm
- Unmatched client and prospect exposure
- Title-less environment with responsibilities driven by capabilities
- Ability to assume significant levels of responsibility requiring intellectual curiosity, motivation and analytical aptitude
- Research, financial analysis and modeling of financial statements, companies, industries and M&A / capital markets and related trends
- Self-motivated with the ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Prepare materials used in marketing, business development and management presentations
- Strong Microsoft suite skills: Excel (modeling and analysis) and PowerPoint (presentation preparation)
- On-track to complete a degree in finance and / or accounting, or have successfully completed significant coursework in these areas
