Investment Specialist analyzes and researches financial markets, securities, and investment products to assess risks, evaluate potential returns, and make informed investment decisions for an organization. Collects and researches economic data, financial metrics, and market conditions to develop and build financial models, forecasts, and investment strategies. Being an Investment Specialist monitors and analyzes portfolio performance, asset allocation, and risk exposure to ensure alignment with the organization's investment objectives, strategies, and risk tolerance levels. Prepares investment reports and analyses on investment opportunities or strategies to identify trends and recommend actions for the organization. Additionally, Investment Specialist utilizes mathematical formulas and statistical analyses to identify potential or alternative investments and calculate and evaluate financial health, returns, and fair value of securities, assets, or other investments. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a manager. The Investment Specialist work is highly independent. May assume a team lead role for the work group. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Assist Portfolio Managers, Strategists and Specialists with trade execution for clients, while ensuring the actions taken on behalf of clients are documented and allocated correctly in the systems. Maintain broker and vendor relationships. Perform daily balancing/reconciling of accounts, ensuring systems are up to date and correct. Provide proposal and client meeting reports for certain key clients on a periodic basis. Ensure that all departmental documents and activities are performed in compliance with applicable laws, regulations, policies, and procedures as applicable to this position, including completion of required compliance training. Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned. Qualifications To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and ensure the duties are completed on time. Ability to read and interpret documents such as procedure manuals, general business correspondence, and/or journals, or government regulations. Ability to use various software platforms. Ability to write simple-to-business correspondence and routine reports. Ability to multitask in a high pace environment. Education and/or Experience HS Diploma/GED and Four to Six years of experience as a trust assistant, or similar experience in a financial services position or in a professional or business office is preferred.
