IT Capacity Planner evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. Description: Responsibilities of the position Include: Plans, prepares, issues and controls production schedules and coordinates with material requirements to ensure a controlled flow of approved materials timed to meet production requirements. Advises management of the status of work in progress, material availability, and potential production problems to ensure that personnel, equipment, materials, and services are provided as needed. Builds schedules for all new contracts and some proposals. Will be responsible for determining manpower, equipment, and raw materials needed to cover production demand. Monitor materials inventories, track progress of production, and review factors which affect schedules. Must have knowledge of steel fabrication and able to read and interpret complex blueprints. Will analyze blueprint drawings, models, parts list to schedule and plan for cost estimates. Will plan and prioritize operations to ensure max performance and minimum delay. Will maintain progress, schedules, reports, and ensures production status are monitored to customer’s expectation. Works directly with manufacturing to support on-time delivery of products. Requirements: Advanced communication and computer skills are required for this position. Must have proven experience as production planner and knowledge of QA control principles. Working knowledge of MS Office and ERP systems. Skilled in math and statistics and should possess strong organizational and problem-solving skills.
Education: May require bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Management, Industrial Management, Business Development, or at least 5 years of experience in the field or in a related area.
Supervision: Works under minimal supervision. Typically reports to a manager.
