IT Capacity Planner, Sr. jobs in Alabama

IT Capacity Planner, Sr. evaluates the organization's data processing and storage needs and develops long-term plans to meet business requirements. Implements policies for network storage system troubleshooting, updating and general maintenance. Being an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. documents problems and solutions and serves as the point of contact for network capacity related issues. Allocates storage space, plans for future projects or acquisitions, reviews hardware and software configurations and makes suggestions for appropriate storage or backup models. Additionally, IT Capacity Planner, Sr. may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a manager. To be an IT Capacity Planner, Sr. typically requires 4 to 7 years of related experience. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project.     Responsibilities:

    • Identify, develop, and deploy or refine manufacturing methods to improve quality, reduce cost and optimize build schedules.
    • Translate engineering intent, drawings, and configurations into fully functional, high quality machined components.
    • Develop manufacturing work instructions to clearly define manufacturing process.
    • Define how to set up hardware for machining on mills, lathes, and multi-axis machines
    • Perform root cause analyses when non-conformances and escapes are identified and deploy corrective actions.
    • Leads producibility assessments for part or product designs.
    • Develops work statements and sequencing of events to support delivery commitments for major hardware.
    • Provides input to the development, maintenance and monitoring of internal documents and schedules at an organizational level
    • Leads, trains and mentors new hires, individual contributors and/or cross functional teams.


    Qualifications:

    • HS/GED/Equiv required. Associate Degree or trade school in related discipline and/or 15 years of manufacturing exper, or production experience or a combination of education and experience
    • Formal training in Project Management, Lean Six Sigma, or lean methods
    • Ability to earn trust, maintain positive and professional relationships, and contribute to a culture of inclusion
    • Proficient with developing tooling and work holding fixtures to support machining processes.
    • Proficient blueprint reading skills including GD&T per ASME Y14.5M-1994 / ASME Y14.100-2017 standard.
    • Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum.

    • Expert technical knowledge in one or more disciplines
    • Ability to lead independent contributors and lead a cross functional team.
    • Expert understanding of GD&T
    • Expert with Manufacturing & CAD Software (Jules, CMES, Velocity, Enovia, Delmia, CATIA, CREO, Etc.)
