    Role Overview

    The Construction Project/Contract Manager will play a pivotal role in managing and overseeing our expanding portfolio of construction projects in the Canton, OH area. This position requires a highly motivated individual eager to learn and contribute to a growing firm. The role involves engaging with current and new clients, Fillmore’s staff, and industry partners. Professionalism, quick thinking, and the ability to work independently are essential.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Project Management: Oversee multiple construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and within budget.
    • Estimating: Ensure proper and adequate estimates are completed for each bid and upcoming projects.
    • Planning: Plan the work to be done, get the necessary personnel, and assign the right duties to the right people.
    • Resource Allocation: Hire the right people and assign them to the right sites, reprimanding or terminating workers when necessary.
    • Task Coordination: Coordinate tasks across different sites to ensure uniformity and coherence upon project completion.
    • Timely Completion: Ensure timely completion of projects to build client trust and avoid unnecessary penalties.
    • Budget Management: Work within the budget by adequately estimating costs and cutting unnecessary expenses.
    • Resource Procurement: Procure and allocate resources to prevent shortages and avoid delays caused by management decisions.
    • Risk Management: Manage both internal and external risks within the project's lifecycle, including poor planning designs and government policies that may affect the project.
    • Client Engagement: Build and maintain strong relationships with current and prospective clients, understanding their needs and ensuring their satisfaction.
    • Team Collaboration: Work closely with Fillmore’s staff and industry partners to ensure seamless project execution.
    • Reporting: Provide regular updates and reports to the President and CEO on project status, risks, and opportunities.
    • Business Development: Assist in identifying and pursuing new business opportunities within the states and commercial sectors.
    • Operational Excellence: Ensure all project tasks and operations are fulfilled with minimal oversight, demonstrating strong discipline and self-management.
    • Compliance and Safety: Ensure all projects comply with federal, state, and local regulations and safety standards.

    Qualifications

    • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of construction management experience.
    • Education: Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field preferred; higher level of education is advantageous.
    • Skills: Strong project management skills, excellent communication and interpersonal skills, ability to work independently and think quickly on your feet.
    • Preferred Experience: Military or government experience is highly desirable.
    • Professionalism: Demonstrated professionalism and ability to engage effectively with clients, staff, and partners.
