Being an IT Quality Assurance Director requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a top management. The IT Quality Assurance Director manages a departmental sub-function within a broader departmental function. Creates functional strategies and specific objectives for the sub-function and develops budgets/policies/procedures to support the functional infrastructure. To be an IT Quality Assurance Director typically requires 5+ years of managerial experience. Deep knowledge of the managed sub-function and solid knowledge of the overall departmental function. About This Role
We are currently seeking a Software Quality Assurance Specialist to join our growing team. Candidates with diverse experience levels in quality assurance are encouraged to apply. This is a full-time position based in our Lexington, KY office, with the flexibility to work on-site, hybrid, or remotely. If working remotely, you can expect to visit the office for new hire orientation and typically attend team meetings once a quarter.
Primary Responsibilities- Design and execute test plans to ensure software meets design specifications.
- Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback.
- Create, execute, and document detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases.
- Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
- Design, develop, and execute automation scripts using open-source tools.
- Identify, record, document thoroughly, and track bugs.
- Monitor debugging process results.
- Investigate the causes of non-conforming software and train users to implement solutions.
- Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts.
- Stay up-to-date with new testing tools and test strategies.
- Participate in the entire software development life cycle, from feature design to deployment.
- Collaborate with the product and development teams to deliver high-quality solutions.
- Proven work experience in software quality assurance; experience in complex microservice or big data environments is preferred.
- Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases.
- Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing.
- Hands-on experience with automated testing tools for API and service applications.
- Experience working with cloud-based services, familiarity with Azure is a plus.
- Solid knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
- Experience with performance and/or security testing is advantageous.
- Minimum of 8 years of experience in software quality assurance.
- Proven leadership experience in managing QA teams.
- Extensive knowledge of QA methodologies, tools, and processes.
- Experience in designing and implementing automated testing frameworks.
- Proficiency in at least one programming language and scripting.
- Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Experience with continuous integration/delivery practices.
- A track record of successful project completion and product launches.
- Exceptional attention to detail.
- Good oral and written communication skills.
- Strong critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work well with people of varying technical abilities.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related subject.
- Proficiency in computer technology and programming languages.
- Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Familiarity working with large data solutions.
- Experience in dental, logistics, hospitality, or other vertical markets.
