HOURS PER WEEK / WEEKS PER YEAR: 40 / 52

LOCATIONS:  70 Main St., 371 Main St., 76 Lakemont Road

The Janitor is responsible for maintaining the maintenance, care and appearance of office spaces and center facility. S/he is also responsible for complying with the applicable Head Start/Early Head Start Performance Standards.

• Demonstrate competency in all five areas of NEKCA's Core Values. Demonstrate respect for all NEKCA clients, the choices they make and the challenges they face.
• Maintain facilities in good physical appearance
• Wash or vacuum bathroom and classroom floors daily
• Clean toilet facilities daily
• Wash center equipment (i.e. tables, chairs, toys, cribs, etc.) weekly
• Vacuum/mop office space and empty trash daily
• Removal of recycling
• Clean woodwork, walls and windows as necessary

Other facility duties as assigned which could include, but not limited to:

• Moving furniture, fixtures, equipment
• Completion of regularly scheduled maintenance checks
• Assisting with record storage and disposal
• Landscaping/mowing/trimming
• Snow shoveling/salt/sanding
• All other duties deemed necessary by your supervisor in keeping with your job description

Requirements

• Must comply with NEKCA policies if hired.
• Staff will be required to authorize and pass CDD and NEKCA’s criminal record check process and DMV record check
• Valid driver's license and reliable vehicle
• Ability to work well independently and as part of a team
• Excellent organizational skills
• Interest in and support for the CFDP program
• Ability to lift/carry up to 65 lbs.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality
