    TARCOG is seeking dynamic individual to join our team as a Part-Time Job Developer. We are seeking someone who shares our core values of Service, Initiative, Accountability, and Transparent Communication.

    SUMMARY DESCRIPTION: Responsible for assisting the Director of Employment Programs in the management and administration of the employment program for seniors. Examples of such duties include recruitment of applicants for the job training program, placement of applicants in compatible job positions and training programs, placement of enrollees in non-subsidized employment, and completion of reports as required.

    SUPERVISORY CONTROLS: Receives general instructions from the Director of Employment Programs. Supervisor sets limitations, quality and quantity expected deadlines and priorities; employee uses initiative in carrying out assignments; and work is checked for technical accuracy.

    RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES:

    1. Evaluates enrollees' skills, interests, and job goals for placement at appropriate worksites and training programs in order to help enrollee obtain unsubsidized employment.

    2. Communicates orally and in writing to community, church, civic, and similar groups, businesses, and non-profit organizations using personal contact in order to disseminate program information and develop unsubsidized job placement opportunities and recruit possible job seekers through community outreach and presentations to community members and organizations.

    3. Schedules interviews with enrollees, assists enrollees with resumes, schedules interviews with prospective employers and/or host agencies, assists enrollees in preparing for interview, and gathers post-interview results. Reviews job descriptions and letters of commitment for prospective and/or continuing employment in order to ensure the documents are complete, accurate, and current. Contacts unsubsidized employers regarding hiring possibilities. Refers qualified enrollees to these agencies for interviews.

    4. Exchanges information with enrollees and supervisors through worksite visits in all five counties that TARCOG serves and telephone conversations, completing appropriate forms and other documentation concerning progress toward employment goals, job performance, safety standards, potential employment opportunities and job rotation or transfer to resolve or preclude problems.

    5. Periodically assists with reviews of biweekly timesheets of all enrollees in order to ensure accuracy and completeness before submittal to Accounting.

    6. Attends meetings as required by TARCOG, contractor, and Alabama Department of Senior Services (ADSS) in order to obtain or disseminate programmatic information.

    7. Enters data into web-based reporting system.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

    Knowledge of interviewing techniques.

    Knowledge of evaluation techniques as needed to obtain relevant job site/employment information.

    Knowledge of and ability to operate office equipment and telephone.

    Ability to communicate, orally and in writing, as needed to deal with administrators, management, staff personnel of TARCOG, program agencies, and the general public; to make presentations or briefings; and to compose reports and provide requested information.

    High School Diploma/GED required, Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Communications, Marketing, or related fields preferred.

    A valid driver's license and a good driving record. Must be insurable under TARCOG's auto policy.

    Pay: $18.00 - $22.00 per hour

    Expected hours: 24 per week
