Keyboard Instrument Repairer and Tuner jobs in Connecticut
Keyboard Instrument Repairer and Tuner inspects, repairs, and rebuilds instruments. Tunes and plays instrument to determine necessary adjustments. Being a Keyboard Instrument Repairer and Tuner may require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Keyboard Instrument Repairer and Tuner relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Performs a variety of tasks. Position : Meter Repairer A (CT - East Hartford - Meadow St) (R-05722)
Number of Positions : 1
Location : CT - East Hartford - Meadow St
Responsibilities
- Slow motion testing of meters.
- Spray painting of meters.
- Hydro test meters and pressure test meters.
- Make minor repairs on meters.
- Replace tops of meters.
- Remove tops and repack stuffing boxes, replace necessary parts and otherwise prepare meters for readjustment.
- Does custodial work necessary to keep Meter Shop in orderly condition.
- Removes meters from stock and places on loading platform.
- Does other related work of miscellaneous nature that may be assigned.
Skills and Requirements
- Must be able to understand and follow oral and written instructions.
- Must have the ability to do work of a mechanical nature.
- Must have a MVD license and a good driving record.
- Must be physically able to perform the duties required.
THIS IS A DOT SAFETY-SENSITIVE POSITION. ANY APPLICANT TRANSFERRING INTO THIS DEPARTMENT FROM A NON-SAFETY POSITION WILL BE REQUIRED TO PASS A PRE-EMPLOYMENT DRUG SCREEN.
