Kitchen Manager manages the daily operations of the kitchen, which may include but not limited to: accounting, finance, staff working schedule, inventory control and equipment supplies. Responsible for employees' training. Being a Kitchen Manager oversees other departments that contribute to the operations of the kitchen. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Kitchen Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Kitchen Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Kitchen Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. QUALIFICATIONS
- 5 years of professional experience in the baking industry
- Previous experience in a similar leadership role
- Experience preparing both sweet and savory food
Preferred :
A culinary degree
The typical schedule consists of five days a week, starting at 6 : 00 am and finishing at 3 : 00 pm, with one or two weekend shifts to meet our bakery's needs.
WHAT TO EXPECT AS A KITCHEN MANAGER
You're responsible for overseeing all kitchen operations, including order management, production, and the preparation of food.
You act as Head Baker, creating baked goods, salads, and sandwiches. Additionally, you lead hiring and training efforts, develop both sweet and savory recipes, manage the kitchen schedule, conduct inventory, and analyze food costs.
Collaboration with the owners is key to ensuring our kitchen aligns with our bakery's vision and goals!
