Kitchen Manager manages the daily operations of the kitchen, which may include but not limited to: accounting, finance, staff working schedule, inventory control and equipment supplies. Responsible for employees' training. Being a Kitchen Manager oversees other departments that contribute to the operations of the kitchen. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Kitchen Manager typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Kitchen Manager supervises a group of primarily para-professional level staffs. May also be a level above a supervisor within high volume administrative/ production environments. Makes day-to-day decisions within or for a group/small department. Has some authority for personnel actions. Thorough knowledge of department processes. To be a Kitchen Manager typically requires 3-5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor.     Tula’s is seeking a motivated and experienced restaurant leader who exemplifies all the above to help open and operate our 2nd Tula’s Kitchen location, opening in the fall of 2024. This person will start immediately after hire for training and in preparation for opening new location.

    What you’ll do:

    • Cultivate a welcoming atmosphere for customers and employees.
    • Lead and train staff to maintain high production, productivity, quality, and customer service standards.
    • Coordinate daily front and back-of-house restaurant operations, including oversight of alcohol operations. 
    • Ensure compliance with all food safety standards and alcohol regulations. 
    • Resolve and follow up on customer opportunities.
    • Control operational costs and exercise fiscal responsibility. 
    • Create and post weekly schedules for store staff.
    • Provide quality feedback, supporting the growth and development of all employees.
    • Lead strategies for identifying and developing future talent for Tula’s. 
    • Collaborate with team to promote the brand in the local community and build sales for Tula’s.

    What you’ll need:

    • Driven to provide a consistently enjoyable, safe, quality eating experience for customers.
    • 5 – 10 years of restaurant manager experience.
    • Skills and experience in both front and back-of-house operations.
    • Extensive food and beverage knowledge.
    • Ability to creatively solve problems and design, test, and refine new processes.
    • Strong organizational skills and ability to operate under minimal oversight.
    • Involvement and understanding of managing inventory, cost of goods and overall control of financials.
    • Excellent leadership and communication skills.
    • Ability to select, train, and develop employees.
    • Desire to grow sales and build rapport within the community.
    • ServSafe and Alcohol Server certified.
    • Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
