Laboratory Courier picks up and delivers medical specimens and packages for a laboratory. Ensures timely, safe, and accurate delivery. Being a Laboratory Courier is responsible for maintenance and care of vehicle. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Laboratory Courier must be licensed to operate a vehicle. Licensing requirements depend on the state. Must have a "satisfactory" driving record. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Laboratory Courier may require 0-1 year of general work experience. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. As a Jetsun Courier 1099 subcontractor, you'll use your own vehicle for part-time deliveries, including scheduled routes and last-minute or emergency deliveries, called STATs. These STAT deliveries can be requested during overnight hours between 11 pm and 8 am, although most are requested during daylight hours. STAT deliveries are mandatory and extend to facilities located in the surrounding areas, facilities are not all local.
Responsibilities include safe loading/unloading, following routes, providing exceptional customer service, and meticulous attention to documentation and paperwork duties. You'll also need to adapt to various weather conditions, including extreme circumstances where deliveries must proceed as scheduled. Please note: you'll be on call 24 hours a day if you accept this position.
Skills required for this position include possessing a valid driver's license, effective time management, keen attention to detail, and proficiency in documentation tasks.
