Laboratory Manager manages the daily activities of the laboratory. Develops laboratory policies and procedures and issues updates as needed. Being a Laboratory Manager plans and designs experiments. Estimates the time and resources needed to complete projects. Additionally, Laboratory Manager orders and inspects materials and equipment and maintains detailed and accurate inventory of lab supplies. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Laboratory Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Laboratory Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required. Territory Manager - Account Executive

  • GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITY:  Develop yearly sales strategy for defined geographical territory with goal of increasing sales and profitability in accordance with corporate goals. Requires serving accounts and identifying, marketing and selling new accounts.  Requires mentoring activities for other sales associates. 

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: 

    • Develop a specific marketing plan (consistent with overall business unit plan) to grow existing territory.
    • Maintain and grow existing clients in the territory, including; regular phone contact, periodic in-person meetings, and host meetings at CRL.
    • Identify, target and sell potential new clients including; telephone calls and/or letters to create interest, in-person meetings at prospects location, prepare and present proposals to prospective clients, and host visits and tours of potential clients.
    • Assist with the development of strategic objectives to maximize sales growth and territory performance.
    • Assist with sales strategies for differentiation based on market research and competitor analyses.
    • Assist in setting up new clients.
    • Prepare for and attend industry meetings.
    • Manage travel budget for territory.
    • Work with IS to address systems needs of clients.
    • Oversee additional projects as assigned.
    • Train new users on web OASIS
    • Determine training needs by traveling with sales representatives, observing sales encounters, and conferring with sales manager.
    • Improve training effectiveness by developing new approaches and techniques, making support readily available, and integrating support with routine job functions.
    • Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities, reading professional publications, maintaining personal networks, and participating in professional organizations.
    • Exhibit and promote CRL culture and values.
    • Present a highly professional image on behalf of CRL to clients and prospects.
    •  Maintain and protect the confidentiality of all CRL, CRL subsidiaries, legal entities and client information.
    • Be able to comply with all applicable federal, state, and local safety and health regulations that would apply to this job.

    Keep work area neat and clean.

    Other duties as assigned.

    JOB QUALIFICATIONS:

    EDUCATION: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.

    EXPERIENCE:

    • Outside sales experience 
    • 10 years industry experience 
    • Supervisory experience 
    • Marketing experience preferred

    •          Sitting for extended lengths of time
    •          Close vision requirements due to computer work

    EQUIPMENT:    PC and communications equipment.

    OTHER:  Willingness and ability to travel 50% or more. Overtime and weekend work as necessary.
