PROGRAM DESCRIPTION
The Clinical Services Program’s (CSP) primary mission is to perform sequential studies using samples obtained from patients with cancer, AIDS, chronic granulomatous disease, or other diseases associated with immunologic dysfunction, as well as to monitor viral load in patients with HIV.
The Senior Program Coordinator position is part of the BioProcessing and Trial Logistics (BPL) group within CSP, in support of the NCI Division of Cancer Prevention (DCP). This position is responsible for the overall coordination of activities for all BPL activities and projects in support of the DCP. This includes project scheduling, providing project updates, task tracking, and working with inventory databases for the management of supplies, specimen management, and shipment distribution. The position is also responsible for providing assistance as needed in the production of specimen collection & transport kits, specimen processing, and data entry. The primarily responsibilities revolve around maintaining excellent communication with project sponsors, internal laboratory and shipper staff, internal support groups, external testing laboratories, and vendors. This position requires the use of incidental courier van use within the FNLCR campus. Preference given to applicants with prior human blood processing experience, experience in laboratory operations, utilization of laboratory equipment such as Biosafety cabinets, -80C freezers, centrifuges, working with databases, shipment of Class 6.2 material, and the demonstrated ability to deal with multiple stakeholders.
