Manufacturing Manager
The Manufacturing Manager (MM) will establish the organization, facilities, processes, quality management system, and operations for manufacturing materials, devices, integration, and packaging. The MM will work with the leadership team to delineate roles and responsibilities and develop interdepartmental processes and workflows to optimize existing resources. The MM will develop a strategic plan and roadmap for acquiring, organizing, and utilizing resources to achieve initial and full operational capabilities for manufacturing.
Upon reaching Initial Operational Capability, the MM will oversee all aspects of production operations. A primary responsibility is to ensure that all such manufacturing processes run smoothly, efficiently, and on budget. This duty also involves making and implementing plans for manufacturing growth and ensuring that manufacturing operations can meet the demands of current and future technical endeavors and business opportunities.
In this capacity, it is of utmost importance that all applicable regulations for Environmental, Health and Safety be strictly adhered to and that annual training be provided and completed by all manufacturing personnel, which is necessary to establish a safe and protective workplace that is safe from serious hazards that can cause danger to employees.
Primary Responsibilities of the MM Include:
· Oversee the daily operations of the entire materials, devices, integration, and packaging manufacturing facility.
· Establish, coordinate, plan, and direct all activities related to the manufacturing and production process.
· Establish, monitor, and sustain a safe and protective working environment for all employees and ensure all employees meet or exceed performance and safety protocols.
· Manage the manufacturing workflow and delivery schedule for all aspects of production.
· Establish a quality management system, and oversee and maintain quality assurance of produced materials and devices.
· Develop, implement and maintain ISO 9001 (or equivalent) certification and ensure that all relevant employees are trained in the ISO systems and processes.
· Work closely with quality control personnel to review and monitor production consistency and the delivery of products that meet or exceed company standards and customer expectations.
· Continuously monitor and improve production yields to determine trends and areas of improvement.
· Provide Quarterly materials and devices production and manufacturing facility reports.
· Develop and continuously optimize production processes and data for optimal efficiency which includes facility layout of equipment and process flow.
· Interact and communicate with other administrative leaders, such as the financial managers to establish operational and project budgets, HR to address employee related matters and to hire new workers, and the President and CxO’s, i.e., COO, CTO, CMO, in relation to business execution, planning, forecasting, and the establishment of future visions and strategies.
· Establish and sustain a manufacturing organizational structure with clear roles and responsibilities and lines of reporting for subordinate technical staff.
· Manage production and manufacturing employees and delegate appropriate tasks to ensure professional and optimal performance.
· Manage direct reports and their activities. This includes overall performance management; training and development; analyzing and resolving work problems; and discipline.
· Conduct/oversee annual performance appraisals and provide coaching and guidance to all operations employees.
· Lead the manufacturing team to set and achieve goals; promote and demonstrate effective communication and positive culture; and empower team members for optimal performance.
· Coordinate production schedules, resource demands, and development roadmaps with ongoing contracts and developments in systems research.
Requirements:
Engineering Degree – Civil, Electrical, Mechanical or Chemical
ISO9001, Six Sigma (preferred), EHS
