Mid Carolina Credit Union, based in Lugoff, SC is actively seeking to fill the position of Compliance Officer.

Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement compliance policies and procedures to ensure adherence to applicable laws, regulations, and industry standards.
• Conduct regular internal audits to assess compliance with company policies and identify areas for improvement.
• Monitor changes in laws and regulations that may impact the organization's compliance requirements.
• Provide guidance and training to employees on compliance-related matters.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure compliance in various areas, such as finance, operations, and human resources.
• Investigate and resolve compliance issues or violations.
• Prepare reports and documentation for regulatory agencies as required.
• Stay up-to-date on industry best practices and emerging trends in compliance.

Experience:

• Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a compliance role, preferably within the financial services industry.
• Bank Secrecy Act Officer Certification (CBAP)
• Strong knowledge of corporate accounting principles and practices.
• NCCO, CUCE, and/or CUERME highly desired
• Familiarity with ACH (Automated Clearing House) transactions and related regulations.
• Technical accounting skills, including the ability to interpret financial statements and analyze financial data.
• Experience working with credit unions or financial institutions is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of internal audit processes and controls, as well as Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) requirements.
• Familiarity with Generally Accepted Auditing Standards (GAAS) and other relevant auditing standards.
• Understanding of fair housing regulations is a plus.
