Library Researcher carries out research activities in a library. Processes requests for research information and compiles information on related topics. Being a Library Researcher requires a bachelor's degree and 0-2 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly-used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Additionally, Library Researcher relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Works under immediate supervision. Library Assistant responsibilities include:
Circulation procedures
Customer service: Checking out materials, searching for specific titles, assistance with computers, faxes, photocopies, and other technology
Comfortable working with children
Reference Assistance
Genealogy research assistance
Prepare overdue notices
Filing, typing, and other office work
Materials processing
Catalog magazines
Develop slides for electronic bulletin board
Assist with planning and implementing library programming
Shelving books and straightening shelves
And other duties as assigned by the Library Director
Ability to lift 30 lbs.
Comfortable with using ladders.
Flexibility is key.
