Licensing Manager oversees the licensing of employees responsible for the sale and marketing of insurance, loan, or investment products. Ensures compliance with all applicable regulations; maintains all necessary records. Being a Licensing Manager manages license acquisition and renewal processes. Establishes databases or recordkeeping policies and strategies to track the status of agents, applications, and forms. Additionally, Licensing Manager may require a bachelor's degree in area of specialty. Typically reports to a head of a unit/department. The Licensing Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. To be a Licensing Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 - 3 years supervisory experience may be required.   • Position Overview:

    The Manager of Licensing and School Support will be responsible for ensuring compliance with all licensing regulations and standards across our organization. This position will work closely with our school staff and management teams to maintain a safe and nurturing environment for children while adhering to state and federal licensing requirements. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of licensing regulations, strong leadership skills, and a passion for early childhood education.

     

    Responsibilities:

    • Compliance Management:
      • Conduct background studies.
      • Proficient in technical skills including knowledge of the HUB.
      • Develop and implement strategies to ensure compliance with all licensing regulations and standards across all centers.
      • Stay up-to-date with changes in licensing regulations and proactively communicate any updates to relevant staff members.
      • Conduct regular audits and inspections to assess compliance with licensing requirements, identify areas for improvement, and develop action plans to address any deficiencies.
      • Collaborate with school directors and staff to ensure all necessary documentation and records are maintained accurately and in accordance with licensing regulations.
    • Licensing Process and Procedures:
      • Oversee the licensing application process for new schools, remodels, and variances ensuring all required documentation is completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner.
      • Work closely with the schools to manage the licensing renewal process for existing schools, coordinating with school directors and staff to gather necessary information and documentation.
      • Develop and maintain a comprehensive licensing database to track the status of licenses, expiration dates, and required renewals.
    • Staff Training and Development:
      • Provide guidance and training to school directors and staff members regarding licensing regulations and standards, ensuring a clear understanding of requirements and best practices.
      • Collaborate with HR and Education teams to develop training programs and resources related to licensing compliance, incorporating the latest regulations and industry trends.
      • Conduct regular training sessions, workshops, or webinars to educate school management and staff members on licensing-related topics.
    • Policy Development and Implementation:
      • Collaborate with the legal and compliance teams to develop and update organizational policies and procedures in line with licensing regulations.
      • Ensure effective communication and implementation of policies and procedures across all centers.
      • Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of policies and procedures, making recommendations for improvements as needed.
    • Supervision:
      • Conduct regular performance evaluations, set goals, and identify opportunities for professional development.
      • Foster a positive and collaborative work environment, promoting teamwork and excellence within the Licensing department.

     

    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field preferred.
    • Minimum of 5 years of experience in early childhood education or childcare, with a strong emphasis on licensing and compliance.
    • Deep knowledge of licensing regulations and standards at the state and federal levels.
    • Proven experience in managing and overseeing licensing processes for a multi-state operation.
    • Strong leadership and managerial skills, with the ability to effectively supervise a team and collaborate with diverse stakeholders.
    • Excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, with flexibility, strong attention to detail with the ability to prioritize.
    • Exceptional communication skills, both verbal and written, and investigative skills.
    • Proficient in record-keeping and data management.
    • Ability to remain calm in difficult situations.
    • Ability to handle sensitive situations with high level of confidentiality.
