Light Assembler jobs in Maryland
Light Assembler assembles fabricated parts of small or light subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Light Assembler identifies and sorts units that fail quality standards. May disassemble units to repair or refit parts as necessary. Additionally, Light Assembler operates hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Light Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Education And Experience- Ability to pass Phoenix Mecano’s knowledge assessments.
- Understanding of high school level reading, writing, and basic math
- Prepare material for assembly process including documentation review, tool selection, component selection, workstation set-up, and disassembly of product
- Set-up and complete assembly and sub-assembly tasks per the production order in required standard time
- Use various hand tools (manual or power) in a safe manner to complete assembly tasks.
- Review completed parts to customer requirements and department standards.

Physical- Routinely required to use a hands, fingers, and arms in repetitive motions
- Regularly required to stand, walk, bend throughout a work shift.
- Regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds | Occasionally required to lift up to 40 pounds
- Consistently required to use hand or light power tools | Occasionally required to use X-Acto knives or razor blades.
- Regularly required to move (push and pull) racks and pallets of product around production floor (up to 100 feet at a time)
