Light Assembler jobs in Washington
Light Assembler assembles fabricated parts of small or light subassemblies and completes units. Fits, tests, and calibrates parts and mechanisms to meet tolerances and product specifications. Being a Light Assembler identifies and sorts units that fail quality standards. May disassemble units to repair or refit parts as necessary. Additionally, Light Assembler operates hand tools, power tools, and other manufacturing assembly line equipment to assemble units. Typically requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Light Assembler works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Assembly:
Completes final assembly on yacht construction, such as navigation equipment installation, completed upholstery installation, finished woodwork installation, cabinetry installation, amenity installation, according to specifications by performing the following duties.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Transports specified parts from storage to work area manually or by using overhead crane.
- Removes burrs and rough surfaces from metal parts with hand file or portable pneumatic grinder.
- Apply sealant to parts and fits parts together on bench according to SOP.
- Bolts, screws, and adheres parts together.
- Installs components into final install positions, connecting fittings and woodwork to lamination.
- Must have some experience with hand and power tools.
- Sets up and operates saws, sanders, and other bench tools.
- Connects electric wires to terminals of sub-assembly.
- Completes final assembly woodworking.
