May require a high school diploma or its equivalent and 2-4 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Being a Log Grader and Scaler is familiar with standard concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on limited experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Additionally, Log Grader and Scaler performs a variety of tasks. Works under general supervision. A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required. Typically reports to a supervisor/manager. Responsibilities:
- Grade and Mark Hardwood Lumber using NHLA Specs
- Ensure that products meet established quality standards and specifications
- Collaborate with production teams to address quality issues and implement corrective actions
- Follow NHLA Guidelines,
Qualifications:
- Previous experience in Hardwood Grading
- Strong attention to detail and ability to accurately measure and assess product specifications
- Excellent communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
