SUMMARY

Employees in this classification will operate machinery to load and unload trucks or containers. This employee will also help sort logs upon arrival, and assist in keeping the log yard clean.

QUALIFICATIONS

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and delegate them when appropriate.
• Ability to function well in a high-paced and at times stressful environment.
• Basic understanding of how to operate standard business equipment.
• Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
• High school diploma or equivalent required

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

• Operate equipment in the loading, unloading, and transporting of logs.
• Sort logs by quality and length.
• Operate chainsaw to trim logs.
• Perform routine inspection and routine maintenance on assigned equipment and report any defects or major repairs needed to the supervisor.
• Use small equipment and tools to maintain equipment.
• Other duties as may be assigned by the company.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Ability to read and/or understand Basic English to comply with safety requirements and supervisor instructions.
• Must have experience in the operation and use of medium and/or heavy equipment.
• Must be able to perform basic maintenance of equipment.
• Must possess the required forklift operator license as required.

Health and Safety Factors

• Work will be primarily outside and will be exposed to weather conditions.
• Employee is required to mount and dismount from the equipment regularly in the performance of the job.
• Must follow all personal protective equipment and safety requirements.
• Work is in a dusty and noisy environment.
• Employee may frequently lift/move up to 30 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
