Logistics Director manages all aspects of an organization's logistics management function to control, deliver, and distribute products and materials to the destination. Implements an overall strategy, metrics, and processes to deploy an optimized logistic network and operations. Being a Logistics Director oversees critical and related inventory, distribution, and transportation operations that support the achievement of organizational goals and KPI's for product delivery and customer satisfaction. Selects vendors and negotiates rates and service levels and monitors performance. Additionally, Logistics Director ensures compliance with all regulations governing transportation of goods. Utilizes analytics to monitor and measure performance, identify problems in operations, and achieve high performance at optimal cost. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Logistics Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Logistics Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments. JOB RESPONSIBILITIES: Responsible for the management and execution of the Inventory Deployment Team for half of the country. Monitoring production and distribution plans for weeks 0 through 1 for brewery, DC, and repack locations within sales region and ensuring execution of these plans at lowest possible cost while avoiding/minimize out of stock conditions for our wholesalers. Accountable for daily production and shipping decisions that support brewery efficiencies including shipment plan where product is available at designated loading time and meets weight threshold while maintaining sustainable warehouse inventory levels. Accountable for service level and allocation cost for shipments outside of planned sourcing Manage and communicate business objectives and strategies to region team that ensures positive business results as they manage relationship between logistics, wholesalers, sales and commercial teams. Primary daily point of contact for all escalations within regions for breweries, DCs, and wholesalers, ready to assist the team with issues they are unable to resolve Support brewery service level agreements (reduce shortages, fill light loads, manage floor inventory, adjust and react to production variances) by ensuring appropriate number of shipments are scheduled per day Explore process change opportunities and drive continuous improvement Work effectively as a team member within the Logistics execution team Actively participate in a positive manner to execute, support, monitor, and achieve Logistics KPIs and goals JOB QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree, in Business, Supply Chain Management experience preferred.
