Machine Operator jobs in Illinois

The basic function of the Machine Operator will be to operate one or more CNC machines or other special purpose machines to machine metal work-pieces to specifications on a production basis.

The duties and responsibilities of the Machine Operator I include, but are not limited to:

• Operates machine to produce quality parts.
• Is in the initial process of being trained to advance into a higher skill level.
• Loads unfinished parts and removes finished parts from machine.
• Performs basic checks for tolerance and specifications.
• Refers unusual difficulties, malfunctions, and any adjustments or tooling requirements to maintain original set up, to team leader or supervisor.
• Observes machine operations to detect work-piece defects or machine malfunction.
• Measures work-piece dimensions to determine accuracy of machine operations.
• Removes burrs, sharp edges, rust, or scale from work-piece.
• Performs minor machine maintenance such as oiling machines, dies, or work-pieces.
