Mail Clerk receives, sorts and distributes incoming mail. Collects and processes outgoing mail. Being a Mail Clerk operates postage machine and other mailroom equipment as needed. Typically requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Additionally, Mail Clerk typically reports to a Mailroom Supervisor. The Mail Clerk possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. Works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area.   • Mail Services Llc

    • Examines work order to determine customer instructions and pulls required material to the specific job order specifications.
    • Monitors and adjust the pace of work to perform job specifications according to job order and timeline.
    • Starts manual process for inserting and observes manual operation to detect evidence of errors throughout production run.
    • Examines inserted mail to verify correct document insertion, quality control, and appearance.
    • Handles, stacks, bands, and boxes processed mail.
    • Reports all job order discrepancies to Manual Lead, supervisor immediately.
    • Processes mail in accordance with established U.S. Postal Service, customer, and Company standards.
    • Keeps Manual Lead or supervisor informed of all changes in the manual process as they occur or are observed.
    • Backs-up other Manual Clerks as needed or when requested.
    • Keeps work area neat and clean.
    • Maintains confidentiality of all information.
    • Keeps Manual Lead or supervisors informed of all pertinent issues.
    • Completes any other duties assigned by the Manual Lead or supervisor.

    1. Education and/or Experience

    • High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    2. Language Skills

    • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions.

    3. Mathematical Skills

    • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure.

    4. Reasoning Ability

    • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written or oral instructions.

    5. Computer Skills

    • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have basic computer skills.

    6. Other Skills and Abilities

    • Good hand to eye coordination. An understanding of the U.S. Postal Service rates, classifications and standards. Ability to work in a fast pace environment
