Job Description:
Apex Systems is seeking a remote Senior Windows Server Administrator for one of their top clients. This role will support a windows server upgrade to 2019.
Your responsibilities will include:Qualifications:Skills:- Upgrading Windows Servers:
- Collaborating with the team to execute server upgrades.
- Performing in-place upgrades or clean installations to move to newer versions of Windows Server.
- Keeping server roles, features, and data intact during upgrades.
- Server Installation and Configuration:
- Installing and configuring Windows servers, including setting up hardware and software.
- Managing user accounts and ensuring seamless integration with existing network systems.
- Monitoring and Maintenance:
- Identifying potential issues and addressing them proactively.
- Performing routine maintenance tasks such as software updates, patch management, and security measures.
- Security Management:
- Implementing and managing security protocols to protect data and systems from cyber threats.
- Configuring firewalls, encryption, and intrusion detection systems to prevent unauthorized access and breaches.
- Backup and Recovery:
- Establishing and managing backup procedures and recovery plans.
- Ensuring data integrity and availability in case of system failures or disasters.
- Documentation and Troubleshooting:
- Maintaining accurate documentation of server configurations, changes, and troubleshooting steps.
- Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software issues.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (or equivalent experience).
- Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, MCSA: Windows Server) are a plus.
- Strong knowledge of Windows Server operating systems.
- Proficiency in PowerShell scripting.
- Excellent problem-solving and communication skills.
