Maintenance Planner devises plans and programs for routine preventative maintenance and scheduled turnaround events at a plant or production facility. Accurately defines and estimates required work requests and maintains a consistent tracking system for work orders. Being a Maintenance Planner develops inspection and survey procedures to ensure an effective preventative maintenance system. Works closely with technicians, engineers, operations, and managers to establish a schedule of proactive maintenance activities during appropriate downtime. Additionally, Maintenance Planner utilizes planning and scheduling methods to ensure the most effective and least disruptive maintenance possible. Typically uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) for tracking and planning maintenance. Monitors spare parts inventory to ensure availability of required parts. Typically requires a bachelor's degree or equivalent. May require a Certified Maintenance & Reliability Professional (CMRP) certification. Typically reports to a manager or head of a unit/department. The Maintenance Planner work is generally independent and collaborative in nature. Contributes to moderately complex aspects of a project. Critical deliverables / accountabilities
· Creates and distributes shop trackers to the production departments.
· Reports (data entry) back-flushing and completions to ERP once production is completed.
· Monitors material shortages affecting shop order creation and release to production.
· Identifies critical shortages and coordinates with the Buyer or contact supplier directly.
· Entering customer orders to drive material planning.
· Reports (data entry) inventory location transfers.
· Prints daily Cycle count list for the counter and reports the results to Excel.
· Executes Final Pick to BRC in Repair Management System (RailcarRX).
· Coordinates outbound material shipments with material handlers, Quality, and Logistics.
· Supports secondary security duties for call box / deliveries.
