Managed Care Provider Relations Manager develops, manages, and sustains relationship with members of physician network of managed care service providers. Recruits new physicians and manages the credentialing and orientation process. Being a Managed Care Provider Relations Manager serves as a resource for physicians, answering questions and providing information about network procedures or contracts. Monitors provider performance and resolves any issues. Additionally, Managed Care Provider Relations Manager reviews billings and claims payments according to managed care contracts. Requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to the head of a unit/department. The Managed Care Provider Relations Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Ensures that project/department milestones/goals are met and adhering to approved budgets. Has full authority for personnel actions. Extensive knowledge of department processes. To be a Managed Care Provider Relations Manager typically requires 5 years experience in the related area as an individual contributor. 1 to 3 years supervisory experience may be required.     We are seeking a dynamic and self-motivated individual to join our team as the Manager of Provider Relations and Value Based Performance. This role is pivotal in overseeing markets where our organization supports value-based home health management. The successful candidate will be responsible for building and nurturing partnerships with providers while driving performance for better outcomes. Reporting directly to the Vice President of Network Management, this role offers the autonomy to develop and implement innovative strategies to engage providers and enhance market performance.

     

     

    Job Responsibilities:

     

    • Recruit, mentor, and support a team of Provider Relations Representatives, fostering their growth and development to become market experts.
    • Establish and lead Joint Operating Committee (JOC) meetings with strategic providers, driving collaboration and alignment to innovate towards interoperability and value creation opportunities that enhance patient and provider satisfaction and outcomes.
    • Develop and implement a data-driven, high-performing culture within the team, focused on continuous improvement and achieving market objectives.
    • Create actionable goals for the team, centered around improving operations, market performance, innovation, and team engagement.
    • Ensure team compliance with company policies and procedures, Medicare guidelines, and State and Federal laws and regulations.
    • Collaborate with leadership to support budgeting initiatives aimed at scaling the Provider Relations department effectively. Provide insights and recommendations to optimize resource allocation and achieve departmental goals.
    • Serve as a primary point of contact for addressing provider issues, complaints, and grievances. Work closely with internal teams and providers to resolve issues promptly and ensure high levels of satisfaction.
    • Support the onboarding process for new agencies, which includes ongoing training and education to ensure they understand and adhere to company policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
    • Work collaboratively with cross-functional teams to develop, implement, and monitor policies and procedures related to provider relations and performance management.

     

     

    Requirements:

     

    • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field (Master’s degree preferred).
    • Minimum 10 years of customer service and provider relations experience in healthcare or managed care.
    • 2-5 years of management experience, including hiring, onboarding, training, and performance management.
    • Knowledge of ancillary value-based reimbursement methodologies.
    • Understanding of home health’s role in the post-acute care ecosystem.
    • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills for effective internal and external partnerships.
    • Strong leadership skills to motivate teams and achieve goals.
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and drive results through innovation and collaboration.
    • Proficiency in data analysis and using metrics for performance improvement.
    • Proven ability to build trust with partners and stakeholders.
    • Familiarity with Medicare guidelines and healthcare regulations.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
    • Excellent written and verbal communication and presentation skills.
    • Willingness to travel quarterly at minimum.
