Job Summary:
We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Accountant to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in non-profit accounting principles and practices, with proficiency in financial software and tools. This role is an average of about 5- 8 hours per week (Wednesdays). This may vary due to seasonal demands, such as year end, etc.
Responsibilities:
- Manage accounts receivable and accounts payable processes
- Perform bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
- Utilize knowledge of debits, credits, and double-entry bookkeeping to maintain financial transactions
- Conduct account reconciliations to verify accuracy of data
- Utilize QuickBooks or similar software for financial record-keeping
- Maintain general ledger accounting entries and ensure compliance with regulatory standards
- Provide support in financial reporting and analysis
- Familiarity with LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) is a plus
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Proven work experience as an Accountant or in a similar role
- Strong financial acumen and analytical skills
- Proficiency in accounting software and MS Office, particularly Excel
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Knowledge of financial regulations and compliance standards
