Our client an Industry leader in Speiclaty Metals is in search for a Direct of Manufacturing.
The Director of Manufacturing will be responsible for overseeing all aspects of the manufacturing process, including production, quality, Additive manufacturing, inventory management, and finishing. The successful candidate will play a key role in developing and implementing Lean strategies to improve efficiency, reduce costs, and ensure the highest level of product quality. They will lead a team of 6 department managers and providing guidance, support, and direction to achieve company objectives. This role reports to the Group President.
Responsibilities:
Develop and implement strategic plans to optimize manufacturing processes and maximize productivity.
Oversee day-to-day operations of the manufacturing facility, ensuring production targets are met while maintaining quality and safety standards.
Collaborate with other departments, such as engineering, supply chain, and sales, to coordinate production schedules and meet customer demands.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and cost reduction, implementing changes as needed to drive operational excellence.
Establish and maintain quality control procedures to ensure all products meet company and industry standards.
Monitor inventory levels and work closely with procurement to ensure adequate supply of raw materials and components.
Lead and develop a team of managers, supervisors, and production staff, providing training, coaching, and performance feedback.
Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and maintain a safe working environment for all employees.
Prepare and manage departmental budgets, controlling costs and expenses to achieve financial targets.
Stay abreast of industry trends and developments, incorporating new technologies and best practices into manufacturing operations.
Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in engineering, business administration, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
10 years of experience in manufacturing management, with a proven track record of success in leading production operations.
Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a diverse team.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a strategic mindset and attention to detail.
Solid understanding of lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
Demonstrated proficiency in project management, budgeting, and resource allocation.
Effective communication skills, both verbal and written, with the ability to interact with employees at all levels of the organization.
