    Collins Aerospace is looking for a Manufacturing Engineering Technician. Under close supervision, the candidate performs entry-level engineering assignments following established policies and procedures. Performs technical tasks which contribute to the planning and execution of engineering projects, manufacturing process improvements and part fabrication. Works alongside manufacturing engineers and shop floor personnel on a variety of tasks related to nacelle assembly. This is a production-oriented position operating in a manufacturing shop environment. At Collins, the paths we pave together lead to limitless possibilities.

    Primary Responsibilities

    • Works under direct supervision to provide technical support to engineers on a variety of engineering tasks.
    • Performs technical tasks which aide in execution of manufacturing process documents (Visual aids, Standard work, Tool Orders).
    • Prepares charts, graphs, or diagrams to illustrate workflow, routing, floor layouts, material handling, machine utilization and first pass yield.
    • Assists more senior manufacturing technical staff in cross discipline collaboration initiatives involving design, quality, equipment, testing, Material Review Board (MRB) and Materials & Process engineers.
    • Provide support and planning for the rework and repair of discrepant products or assemblies.
    • Assists operators in the troubleshooting of issues occurring during the assembly of major nacelle structures including assembly, liquid shimming, drilling, countersinking, fastener installs, fay surface sealing, and rework or repair.
    • Participate in process improvement and continuous improvement activies. Implements results of Lean initiatives. Performs time observations and maintenance of Standard Work.
    • Performs other duties are required.

    Qualifications/ Experience Needed:

    • Typically requires an AA/AS degree (or other 2-year post high school training) with a minimum of 6 years of relevant experience
    • U.S. Person (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, refugee or asylee) or eligible to obtain necessary export authorizations required

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Read, write, speak and understand work instructions both verbal and written, perform basic math calculations.
    • Ability to understand direction and adhere to established procedures.
    • Ability to read material and process specifications, engineering drawings, technical reports, manuals, layups and work instructions.
    • Ability to multitask, problem solve and manage time effectively. Must have solid organizational skills.
    • Intermediate knowledge and experience using MS Office software.
    • Experience with CAD is preferred.

    The salary range for this role is 44,000 USD - 102,000 USD. The salary range provided is a good faith estimate representative of all experience levels. RTX considers several factors when extending an offer, including but not limited to, the role, function and associated responsibilities, a candidate’s work experience, location, education/training, and key skills.
