Job Description Summary: Assist the Quality Engineer in Advanced Product Quality Planning and the responsibilities of the Corrective Action Team and the Continuous Improvement Team.
Key Responsibilities:
- Member of APQP (NPI) Team; Assist in the development and submission of PPAP or qualifications; Assist in the creation of inspection documentation and inspection methods
- Member of the Corrective Action Team and the Continuous Improvement Team
- Assist in the modification and revision changes to quality documentation
- Assist in performing Layered Process Audits and Customer/ISO audits
- Assist in the training of Production and Quality personnel
- Assist in the inspection of components and assemblies
- Assist with Liquid Penetrate Inspection (when applicable)
- Comply with Caran’s Quality Manual, Quality Policy and Objectives, and operating procedures/work instr.
- Develop Quality documentation.
- Assist with Quality Inspection activities.
- Perform Met Lab activities.
- Perform other related tasks as may be required.
Knowledge, skills, abilities, other:
- Associate’s degree, or equivalent in experience
- 2-5 years of experience in Quality Assurance
- ASQ Quality Technician Certification
- Able to use Microsoft Office software
- Fundamental understanding of: Quality methods- SPC, Gage R&R Studies, 6 Sigma, 5 Why’s, 5’S, PPAP, and Qualifications; Tools- micrometer, calipers, height gages, vision systems, CMM; Metrology and calibration; Inspection and Test; Corrective Action
- Basic understanding of the audit process
- Develop and implement quality tracking, analyzing, reporting, and problem-solving
- Document and communicate customer quality requirements • Honest and impartial
- Willing to improve their “Quality” skills, working toward certifications, taking classes as needed
- Willing to excel in a professional team environment
