Purpose of Position: The General Manager is responsible for the manufacturing operations of the company. Oversees supervisors and managers to ensure operations meet quality standards, production goals, on-time service delivery all while maintaining a safe work environment. Manages timelines and budgets; ensures technical performance; provides reports; and adjusts plans to address changes to mitigate risk. Also, provides leadership to assigned teams.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities:
· Manage the day-to-day operations including the planning, production, and shipping functions.
· Develops, oversees, and maintains scheduling, budgeting, and technical performance.
· Allocate resources effectively and fully utilize assets to produce optimal results.
· Coordinates with the production teams and the various support functions so that the work of individual task orders for each project are completed timely and fully meets all quality standards.
· Ensures proactive risk mitigation measures are employed.
· Maintains contact with other functional managers concerning projects and operational decisions.
· Monitor operations and trigger corrective actions.
· Collect and analyze data to find places of waste or overtime.
· Coordinate with other departments to recruit, manage, and develop manufacturing staff.
· Lead continuous process improvement to increase quality and efficiency of production lines while reducing manufacturing costs in a lean manufacturing environment.
· Use key performance indicators and benchmarking.
· Commit to plant safety procedures.
· Other duties may be assigned.
Education, Qualifications and Experience:
· Bachelor’s degree required in Mechanical, Industrial, or Manufacturing Engineering
· Master of Business Administration preferred.
· Minimum of 15 years of experience in manufacturing plant management.
· Demonstrates use computer applications necessary for manufacturing management.
· Demonstrates good written, oral, and listening skills
· Experience managing with lean manufacturing principles.
· Strong team building, decision-making and people management skills.
