*This position is mostly “remote” but will require 1 - 3 onsite meetings per quarter.
Job Summary: The Data Analyst will support, modernize and transform the Office of Chief Information Officer's (OCIO) data analysis and reporting capabilities. Will assess the current reporting and align it with the enterprise vision and business needs.
Responsibilities:
- Conduct a baseline assessment of current reporting and analytical capabilities that support OCIO operations to include internal operations and operations that support enterprise services.
- Develop recommendations to automate business processes; enable real-time collection of data, analysis, monitoring, and reporting; and improve business operations, including efficient clearance processes, to effectively utilize resources.
- Enable real-time data analytics through appropriate tools.
- Develop reporting outcomes in an easily digestible way for leadership for efficient and effective decision-making. Reports could include Power BI dashboards for strategic performance monitoring among other ways to visualize / report on key OCIO data.
- Employ an evidence-based approach to turn data into information that can be used to make critical decisions.
- Focus on key attributes to improve cost, schedule, performance, and timely reporting to ensure that decision makers can understand, influence, and act on the results reported.
Education & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Management, Statistics, or related field from an accredited university or college.
- At least 5 years of direct data analysis experience, preferably in federal, state, or local government.
- Ability to analyze processes, compile data, examine, report and present with precision and thoroughness.
- Proven analytical and data modeling skills.
- Strategic thinking and organizational skills with attention to detail and efficiency.
- Excellent reporting, presenting and communication skills.
- Proficient in using Microsoft Suite, Word, Excel; SQL, Python or other tools.
- Ability to work independently, exercise sound initiative and judgment, and adhere to the highest professional standards.
