Materials Handling Supervisor supervises and coordinates the work of employees who load and unload material within a warehouse or storage facility. Processes orders from requisitions and dispenses items from stock. Being a Materials Handling Supervisor oversees the utilization of hand trucks, forklifts, hoists, conveyors, or other handling equipment to move material to and from aircraft, trucks or trains and within the storage facility. Prepares work schedules, assigns work, and oversees the work product. Additionally, Materials Handling Supervisor ensures procedures are according to specifications and that resources are used effectively and work schedules and targets are met. May assist in inventory of stock and stock rotation. Enters information into a computerized system to maintain up-to-date stock records, retrieve stored data, or respond to inquiries about inventory levels or delivery schedules. Requires a high school diploma or its equivalent. Typically reports to a manager. The Materials Handling Supervisor supervises a small group of para-professional staff in an organization characterized by highly transactional or repetitive processes. Contributes to the development of processes and procedures. Thorough knowledge of functional area under supervision. The Supervisor, Materials Planning will be a working leader role, located in Brookings, SD. This role will supervise 1-2 associates within the Brookings Materials team, and support our manufacturing plants based in Brookings, South Dakota and Mocksville, NC. This individual will interface with suppliers to place orders and ensure the timely delivery of products to our Larson sites. The successful candidate will own product category throughout the network and will work closely with demand planning, factory, warehouses, and transportation teams; maintain relationships with key stakeholders and report metrics that drive continuous improvement, high fill rates, and a streamlined workflow in a dynamic fast-paced environment. The Supervisor, Materials Planning will develop long-range planning while considering inventory levels, obsolescence, lead times, product life cycles and production capacity. Support master schedule execution.
Location: This is a full time role requiring on-site presence at our Brookings, SD location, 5 days per week.
