Materials Management Supervisor supervises daily operations and planning to optimize the flow of raw materials, supplies, and equipment from initial procurement to the final disposition and fulfill material requirements for volume, cost, and scheduling business operations. Uses material requirement plans to ensure the required flow of materials is maintained. Being a Materials Management Supervisor coordinates procurement, warehouse, and distribution operations and staffing to enable workflows crucial to the flow of materials. Responsibilities:
•Supervises other Material Management activities in Manager’s absence. Daily supervision of storeroom and receiving. Develops work schedule for technicians. Assigns tasks to staff and inspects work.
•Completes staff performance reviews. Establishes department goals and organizes processes to meet stated goals. Develops training and education process for department tasks.
•Verifies schedule vs. Kronos timekeeping records. Serves as department timekeeper as needed.
•Adherence to all department, hospital and system policies.
•Use of handheld computer device to calculate supply needs and inventory requirements.
•Demonstrates use of TQI techniques and philosophies. Actively seeks to eliminate errors and consistently improve service to customers.
•Enters data into Material management Information System to record requisitions, receivers, and returns.
•Verifies system information and takes appropriate steps to reconcile. Researches errors to find cause of errors.
•Conducts audit of delivery locations.
•Directs the delivery of supplies, equipment, forms, mail, and other items to requesting locations.
•Prioritizes deliveries as necessary to improve customer service.
•Delivers emergency requests promptly. Delivers overnight deliveries and next day deliveries promptly.
•Supervises the receiving process. Verifies quantity and product information; compares to Purchase Order.
•Notifies supervisor of discrepancies and assists with reconciliation. Investigates mis-shipped items and corrects problems as necessary.
•Maintains and readjusts established par level information or exchange cart information to minimize shortages and maintain customer service levels.
•Suggests changes to stocking procedures to improve performance of department.
•Records signatures for delivery purposes. Inspects packages for damage; reports any damage to supervisor immediately. Prepares outgoing packages, calculates and records shipping costs as needed. Uses pallet jacks and other equipment in a safe manner.
•Assists with the physical inventory process. Counts and verifies supplies in inventory and reports discrepancies to manager.
•Performs buyer duties as needed during buyer absences.
•Rectifies discrepancies in supply budgets.
•Keeps work area clean, neat and free of debris.
•Other duties as assigned.

•High School Diploma or GED required.

•Must have own transportation due to travel to multiple sites.

Pay Range
Minimum hourly: $20.77
Maximum hourly: $31.68
