- Job Description: The Material Planner will be responsible for but, not limited to planning and scheduling materials for Manufacturing, maintaining material work orders, generation and updating project master bill of materials, risk assessments for material usage, generation of conditional release forms, assisting with SOP updates, continuous improvement initiatives, ERP transactions, verifying, checking-in, returning, documenting and staging GMP materials being delivered for use in manufacturing processes, product development processes, and other departments within the company. The material planner will be required to assist in daily warehousing operations and maintain work-in-progress inventory accuracy, including after-hour and weekend support as needed. It is imperative that the material planner have a positive helpful attitude and maintain excellent working relationships with all personnel. This position requires meticulous attention to detail, exceptional organization skills, flexibility, and adaptability. The material planner must have a clear understanding of GMP practices and General safety practices and always adhere to them. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Initiate QAD work orders for Manufacturing production runs timely Initiate Master bill of materials for all processes by client Aide in sourcing alternate and or replacement materials Regularly update changes to MRP Tool as processes change and develop Initiate document change requests for client approved BoMs, material specs, and department appropriate SOPs as needed Initiate risk assessments for cross-client usage of raw materials as needed Provide QAD /Material training to other team members Initiate conditional release of raw material requests as needed. Report inventory shortages and damages to material control for corrections and replacement options Communicate problems such as documentation errors, material shortages, product damage, equipment malfunctions, etc. Maintain compliance with all GMP practices Trace and track material usage, lot transactions, etc. in QAD. Run and create reports in QAD. Knowledge of work orders, milestones, and project codes Complete, read, interpret, and create forms or spreadsheets in Microsoft Word or Excel Maintain good communication with members from all Cytovance departments File all documentation per Management instructions Must be able to plan daily activities effectively and efficiently Assist continuous improvement initiatives Extreme detail in the documentation of all processes involved in outgoing or incoming materials is required Maintain organization in all work and storage areas Provide material analysis to determine amounts of materials on site for proposed runs (PM Data) Provide Gap Analysis to forecast project needs Analyze risk of material shortages to determine the impact on future projects for repurpose allocations Analyze material quantities for current and future ordering Provide and analyze scrap report of expired materials Review and analyze MRP (Client Bill of Materials) Create and maintain MRP tool for each active client Interface with MST and manufacturing. Post run material review and reconciliation of MRP tool to improve accuracy Create requisitions for materials ordering that have completed GMP#1 Place gap purchase requisitions for new ENG & GMP #1 process once MRP is established Place supplemental orders for manufacturing for materials Coordinate with purchasing department to ensure delivery dates and material needs are met Maintain respectful and courteous interactions with all Cytovance coworkers and external contacts when communicating on behalf of Cytovance. Additional duties as assigned Job Requirements: High school diploma or general education degree (GED), and 3-5 years of material handling experience in a manufacturing industry; Associate degree preferred with 2 years’ experience of material handling experience in manufacturing. Exceptional attention to detail and organization skills. Must have previous experience using ERP system. Ability to understand, navigate and work in Microsoft Word as well as generate reports and spreadsheets in Excel. Ability to prioritize and execute tasks with a sense of urgency and meet critical deadlines. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in a professional manner. Ability to execute written or verbal tasks to completeness. Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables in standardized situations. Ability to react quickly to changing needs, while maintaining a positive can-do attitude. Ability to take ownership and lead others. Ability to take up extra challenges within the supply chain and manufacturing environments. Ability to comprehend and follow written SOPs, cGMPs, policies, and procedures. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to work independently without supervision. Ability to work flexible hours and inconsistent schedules as necessary to meet production demands and timelines. Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to transport materials in company vehicles. Must be available full-time 40 hours and overtime as needed.
