Mechanic Technician jobs in Wisconsin
Mechanic Technician maintains and services a facility's mechanical equipment, control systems, power distribution systems, and HVAC systems. Performs preventative maintenance and routine repairs to a facility's systems and equipment. Being a Mechanic Technician conducts periodic safety and maintenance inspections to evaluate equipment for replacement and identify wear and damage. Uses technical diagrams, blueprints, and schematics to install, troubleshoot, calibrate, and repair equipment, engines, and compressors. Additionally, Mechanic Technician orders parts needed for replacement and coordinates with service providers to complete maintenance tasks. Uses a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS) or work order system to track and document activities. Follows established safety procedures and regulations for hazardous materials handling. May have completed a trade apprenticeship or technical training. Requires a high school diploma. Typically reports to a supervisor. The Mechanic Technician works under the close direction of senior personnel in the functional area. Possesses a moderate understanding of general aspects of the job. - Work with state-of-the-art, industry leading diagnostic equipment to determine the root cause of system failures.
- Determine services required to repair and perform failure analysis.
- Complete repairs and rebuilds/overhauls on a variety of diesel engines.
- Perform diagnostic and repairs on driveline and chassis components including clutches, fan hubs, differentials, fifth wheels, suspension and brakes, transmissions, and other necessary repairs.
- Apply OEM documented procedures and policies to complete complex repairs, including identifying required parts and tools.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Valid driver's license
- Dependable and reliable attendance required
- Basic computer skills and knowledge
- Ability to lift and carry items up to 75 pounds
- Frequent bending and twisting
- Ability to communicate in a courteous and professional manner.
