Description of Duties:
The Mechanical Maintenance Technician supports the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) on the Integrated Research and Development for Enterprise Solutions (IRES) contract. The candidate will:
· Be a plumber that has experience with pumps, steam systems, drain/sewer lines, and domestic water piping or a HVACR technician that has experience with CRAC units, evaporative coolers, and Air Handler Units (AHU).
· Be responsible for the daily operations and maintenance of all mechanical equipment and systems from the incoming base utilities (chilled water, 50 psi steam and potable/non-potable water) to the delivery of temperate air meeting customer temperature and humidity requirements.
· Perform watch-standard duties such as conducting routine rounds to all mechanical and electrical rooms, operating
· Siemens Insight HVAC control and monitoring systems and responding to all performance related anomalies.
· Utilize the computerized maintenance management system (Maximo) for all time accounting and metrics reporting purposes.
Perform maintenance which includes but is not limited to:
· Air handler, exhaust fan and water pump component repair and/or replacement
· Troubleshooting system control problems
· Performing preventative maintenance and corrective maintenance procedure as directed in work orders and manufacturer commended maintenance and repair
This position is for a day shift HVACR/Plumber that works 8 hours Monday through Friday and covers a weekend every four to five weeks.
This position can be filled at Schriever SFB, Colorado Springs, CO.
This position is expected to pay $55,000 - $80,000 annually; depending on experience, education, and any certifications that are directly related to the position.

Basic Requirements:
Must have one of the following combinations of education and experience: HS Diploma (or GED) and 1 years of general experience; Associate’s degree and 0 years of general experience.
· Must have 2 years of experience involving operation, maintenance and repair of buildings with a strong proficiency in one of the following building systems area: HVACR or plumbing systems
· Must have, or be able to obtain, an active DoD Secret Security Clearance
Desired Requirements:
· Have experience with Kitchen equipment maintenance, repair, and Installation in a cafeteria setting
· Have a Refrigerant handling certification level II as a minimum, universal is desired
· Have working knowledge and experience with Government operated data centers and or commercial data centers
· Have experience with Microsoft Office and Windows OS
· Have working knowledge of balancing air and water system with in air handlers, VAVs, FCUs, and fan powered terminals
· Have working knowledge and experience with Reverse Osmosis, steam heating, steam to steam generators, hydronic water pumps, and condensate pumping stations. Install, maintain, and troubleshoot controls for DDC systems
· Have experience with sanitary sewer drain cleaning and condensate drain piping repair
· Have experience solving maintenance problems by studying layout drawings, wiring and schematic drawings, and analyzing construction and operating characteristics
