Job Summary:

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Medical Biller to join the BrightSide team. As a Medical Biller, you will be responsible for accurately billing medical and behavioral health claims, ensuring timely reimbursement from insurance companies, and maintaining patient financial records.

Responsibilities:

- Review and verify patient insurance information

- Prepare and submit electronic or paper claims to insurance companies

- Follow up on unpaid or denied claims

- Resolve billing discrepancies and appeals

- Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient financial records

- Utilize medical coding systems such as ICD-10 and DRG for accurate claim submission

- Collaborate with medical office staff to ensure proper documentation for billing purposes

- Stay updated on changes in medical billing regulations and coding guidelines

- Assist with medical collections as needed

- Maintain HIPAA compliance with claims management and communication

Requirements:

- High school diploma or equivalent; certification in medical billing preferred

- Proven experience as a Medical Biller (min. 2 yr req)

- Strong knowledge of medical terminology, coding systems, and billing procedures

- Proficient in using different medical billing softwares and electronic health record (EHR) systems (SimplePractice experience highly preferred)

- Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry

- Strong organizational and time management skills

- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks effectively

We do not require you to be in person, however, we do hold meetings and other events that you may be required to attend in person.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $21.82 - $22.85 per hour

Expected hours: 16 – 20 per week
