Medical Device Lab Technician works in a laboratory setting, producing medical devices such as prosthetics or orthotics, implants, or other devices. Configures and constructs devices to specifications established by a physician or other health care provider. Being a Medical Device Lab Technician utilizes tools and precision instruments to result in customized fit, optimal function, and maximum comfort for the patient. Disassembles, repairs, and reassembles defective or worn devices or appliances. Additionally, Medical Device Lab Technician works closely with the Orthotist or Prosthetist. SUMMARY:
This is a Monday-Thursday day position working part time hours with some flexibility in hours and days. It is part time and does not come with benefits.
Under minimal supervision operate standard EDM machines, milling machines, lathes and other machine tools as directed in the support of manufacturing activities.
Performs job functions in accordance with company QSP, Financial, and Safety Procedures.
All successful candidates will work within 21CFR820, ISO13485 (including applicable regional and sub-ISO standards), and Sarbanes Oxley compliant systems. Additional regulations and standards may apply.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Perform job functions according to documented procedures and training
· Setup and operate numerically controlled machines and other machine tools to fabricate parts
· Assist in record keeping, to include work orders, shop travelers & inventory sheets
· Perform equipment preventative maintenance
· Work collaboratively as part of the manufacturing and operations team
· Assist management through participation in process documentation activities
· Perform other miscellaneous job-related activities as required
· No travel required
QUALIFICATIONS:
· Minimum High School Diploma or GED
· 1-3 years’ equipment operation experience in a regulated environment (ISO13485, 21CFR820)
· Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence and memos in English
· Ability to write routine reports, correspondence and document work activities
· Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations
· Expertise or ability to develop expertise in relevant medical device legal and regulatory requirements, as defined in the Encision Quality Manual, is required.
· Ability to read and comprehend instructions, short correspondence, and memos. Ability to write simple correspondence. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, all in English.
· Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of the organization (as appropriate) in English.
