    Qualifications

    • High School diploma or equivalent, required, associated degree in related field, preferred.
    • Minimum of two years of hospital and clinic medical records, preferred.
    • Experience with Athena and/or EPIC, preferred.
    • Medical terminology knowledge, preferred.

    Responsibilities Include

    • Receive and process requests for patient health information in accordance with facility policies and procedures.
    • Accurately scan and index medical records to the appropriate patient’s chart.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security with all privileged information.
    • Responsible for managing patient health records.
    • Responsible for safeguarding patient records and ensuring compliance with HIPAA standards.
    • Creates digital images of paperwork to be stored in the electronic medical record.
    • Responds to requests for patient records, both within the facility and by external sources, retrieving them and transmitting them appropriately.
    • Answering of inbound/making outbound calls to/from patients, other healthcare facilities, insurance companies, etc.
    • Must meet productivity expectations.
    • Prioritize workload while being flexible to meet the expectations of the daily operations.

    • Strong communication and customer service skills.
