Understands medical terminology and the use of transcription software and equipment. Being a Medical Records Transcriptionist requires a high school diploma. May require Registered Healthcare Documentation Specialist (RHDS). Additionally, Medical Records Transcriptionist typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Medical Records Transcriptionist works under moderate supervision. Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. Qualifications And Job Description For Medical Transcriptionist- Proficiency with EHR, Microsoft Office
- Create patient's medical record in real-time based on intake paperwork, physical exam, and physicians' treatment plan
- Previous experience in hospital or other health care setting
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong critical thinking skills
- Ability to work and thrive in pressure situations
- Punctual and reliable disposition
- Superb listening and time management skills
- Able to type efficiently and accurately
- Experience preferred, but will train
Pay: Starting $17-$18 per hour depending on experience
