Gaining or has attained full proficiency in a specific area of discipline. To be a Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist typically requires 1-3 years of related experience.     Job Description

    Responsible for providing supportive services to hospital Administration and Medical/ Dental/ Podiatric/AHP Staff. Assists the Medical Staff Manager in ensuring that the operation of the department is in accordance with the Medical Staff policies, Bylaws, Rules & Regulations to assure that only qualified practitioners provide care in the Hospital.

    Responsibilities

    • Provides support services to Hospital Administration and Medical Staff
    • Assist with Credentialing process
    • Maintain knowledge of privileging and credentialing process for medical staff members and allied health members
    • Process all Medical Staff and Allied Health Staff credentialing and re-credentialing applications
    • Maintains confidential credentials files and electronic medical staff databases

    Requirements

    • High School Diploma or Equivalency
    • Associate's Degree preferred
    • 5 years Secretarial/Office experience preferred
    • Minimum 2 years in a Medical Affairs Department preferred
    • Experience in MIDAS Credentialing program preferred
