Being a Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist, Sr. loads and maintains provider information in an online credentialing database system. Tracks license and certification expirations for medical staff to ensure timely renewals. Additionally, Medical Staff Credentialing Specialist, Sr. handles and resolves inquiries regarding credentialing information, process, or status. May provide guidance or expertise to less experienced specialists. Requires a high school diploma. May require Certified Provider Credentialing Specialist (CPCS). Typically reports to a supervisor. Stevens Community Medical Center, a critical access hospital and clinic, has a full-time position available within its Health Information Management Department for a Credentialing Coordinator responsible for making sure all providers are board-certified and legally able to practice medicine in our facility as well as ensuring providers are properly credentialed with insurance payors.
The right candidate must be able to work independently as well as in a team setting. Computer and strong communication skills are required for this position.
