Medical Technologist (ASCP) jobs in Michigan

Our client is in need of adding a long-term ASCP Medical Technologist, MT or a Medical Laboratory Technician, MLT (Generalist) to their laboratory, on their 3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:;30am, Mon - Fri, rotating weekend coverage (work 1 weekend day/get 1 week day off that week). ASCP is required for this role.

*** Able to select for the 3rd shift: 5, 8hr days OR 4, 10hr days OR 3, 12hr days

Responsibilities:

• Set up, adjust, maintain and clean medical laboratory equipment. Analyze the results of tests and experiments to ensure conformity to specifications, using special mechanical and electrical devices.
• Analyze, gather and record test data to issue reports that use charts, graphs and narratives.
• Obtain specimens, cultivating, isolating and identifying microorganisms for analysis.
• Consult with a pathologist to determine a final diagnosis when abnormal cells are found. Skills: Verbal and written communication skills, attention to detail, and problem solving skills.

Shift available:

• 3rd shift: 10:00pm - 6:300am, Mon - Fri, rotating weekend coverage (work 1 weekend day/get 1 week day off that week)
  • OR working 4, 10hr days: 8pm - 6:30am
  • OR working 3, 12hr days: 7pm - 7am

Qualifications/Requirements:

• 1 year of recent experience as a Medical Technologist OR Medical Laboratory Technician in a Generalist role testing clinical samples
• Able to work rotating weekends & holidays as needed
• Bachelor of Science or Associate of Science
• ASCP MLS (Medical Laboratory Scientist) or MT (Medical Technologist) or MLT (Medical Laboratory Technician)
