Membership Director jobs in Indiana

Membership Director oversees an association or member organization's strategic goal-setting, implementation, and service operations to expand membership and deliver member satisfaction. Develops programs and initiatives to engage current members and recruit new ones. Being a Membership Director establishes service operational standards and policies to deliver efficient services to members. Implements web or social media processes to promote the organization and distribute membership information to prospective members. Additionally, Membership Director uses data-driven analysis, tools, and reports to measure member satisfaction and retention and to optimize services. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to senior management. The Membership Director typically manages through subordinate managers and professionals in larger groups of moderate complexity. Provides input to strategic decisions that affect the functional area of responsibility. May give input into developing the budget. To be a Membership Director typically requires 3+ years of managerial experience. Capable of resolving escalated issues arising from operations and requiring coordination with other departments.     Qualifications

    • Associate’s degree in related field or equivalent is preferred.
    • Minimum 2 years related experience is required.
    • Certified CPR/First Aid/AED and attend New Hire Orientation within designated time of hire.
    • Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of the community.
    • Excellent interpersonal, communication, and problem-solving skills.
    • Able to work independently and with minimal supervision. Organized and detail oriented.
    • Adept computer skills in Office 365.
    • Must be able to work flexible hours including evenings, weekend, and holidays.
    • Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.

    Essential Functions

    • Directs and supervises membership to meet the needs of the community and fulfill YMCA objectives. Establishes new relationships and strategies to retain and recruit membership.
    • Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules and directs personnel and volunteers as needed. Reviews and evaluates staff performance.
    • Create a customer obsessed atmosphere for members, staff and volunteers.
    • Seek every opportunity to provide outstanding customer service and pleasantries to have an environment inclusive to serve all and enrich the YMCA experiences.
    • Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals. Ensures records of staff certifications are current and complete.
    • Generate high level customer service models and trainings such as secret shoppers, member surveys, and leading-edge methods for feedback and satisfaction.
    • Develop and meet budget for department.
    • Subject matter expert in Daxko operations for the organization and member engagement.
    • Assists in the marketing and distribution of program information.
    • Assists in YMCA fundraising activities and special events by giving and communicating our cause.
    • Models relationship-building skills (including Listen First) in all interactions. Responds to all member and community inquiries and complaints in a timely manner.
    • Assists with cabinet meetings.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
