Membership Manager manages an association or member organization's service operations to expand membership, deliver member satisfaction, and achieve strategic goals. Implements programs and initiatives to engage current members and recruit new ones. Being a Membership Manager follows service operational standards and policies to deliver efficient services to members. Utilizes web or social media processes to promote the organization and distribute membership information to prospective members. Additionally, Membership Manager maintains a database or system using data collection processes, tools, and analysis to measure and report on member satisfaction and retention. Typically requires a bachelor's degree. Typically reports to a director. The Membership Manager manages subordinate staff in the day-to-day performance of their jobs. True first level manager. Come join the team at the Kansas City Metropolitan Bar Association (KCMBA) to manage their membership functions. The Manager of Membership will interact with members across the legal profession, from students to judges, to enhance justice and the lives of members across the community. This role will create and implement a Strategic Retention Plan, manage, track and evaluate all member activities, and gather member needs for additional programs and support from the association.
SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATES WILL HAVE:
This role is an exciting combination of marketing, event management, networking, and database management. You will need strong written and verbal communication skills, strong attention to detail, experience managing complex databases and strong technology (Microsoft Office Suite) skills. This role is an individual contributor on a small team and can pitch in where needed. You may have managed events, teams, or a household to gain the experience needed to step into this role.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent (5 years) experience
- Experience managing complex database systems (iMIS is a plus)
- Experience engaging and working with members across a wide range of experiences – students to senior level professionals.
ABOUT THE WORK:

This position is a full-time in the office (great views of KC) position that will allow you to work within a small team to support the legal profession in Kansas City. While the work is typically regular business hours, some events and evenings and occasional travel are required to meet members’ needs.
