    Summary: This position has responsibilities within the Athletic Department and Student Activities Center. The coaching portion of this position oversees the Men’s Soccer program. The Head Coach position serves as an integral member of the athletic department, including its operations and events. Provides daily oversight of their assigned collegiate athletic program. This position is responsible for recruiting and retaining a full competitive roster. Supports the development of student-athletes. Coordinates travel, game, schedule, inventory, and maintenance of equipment. Follows all Iowa Valley Community College District (IVCCD), Iowa Community College Athletic Conference (ICCAC), and National Junior College Athletic Association (NJCAA) rules and regulations in administering the program. The Athletics Coordinator portion of the position includes providing oversight of the Student Activity Center Fitness Center which serves all students. Responsibilities include supervising staff, managing facilities and equipment, scheduling events and operations, ensuring safety, managing eligibility and compliance, athletic program and event staffing, and administrative support duties for the athletic department.

    Job Responsibilities:
    • Provides an environment for successful recruitment and retention of student athletes. Supports the development of student athletes’ success in the classroom and in their respective sport. Oversight of the Men’s Soccer program, coordinates travel, game schedule and game management. Provides for program needs within allocated budget, including inventory of all equipment and uniforms. Assists with maintenance of team and college equipment. Develops on and off campus relationships that support the success of the position. Assists with program and department fundraising. Assures compliance with all IVCCD, ICCAC and NJCAA rules and regulations. Serves as an integral member of the athletic department including its operations and events such as providing game day management duties and driving teams to sporting events as needed for all athletic programs. Attends IVCCD and ICCAC meetings as required. Assists with all aspects of college and departmental events and activities including but not limited to campus tours, career events, orientations, and financial aid workshops.
    • The Athletics Coordinator portion of the position includes providing daily operational oversight of the Student Activity Center and Fitness Center that serves all students. Responsibilities include coordinating schedules with athletic staff, supervising the usage of the Babe Harder and SAC Gyms in Astra, managing equipment maintenance and replacement, and collaborating with athletic trainers and Physical Education instructors to ensure a well-cared for and safe environment for our students, faculty, and staff. The position also schedules the hours of operation and staffing; hires, trains and supervises employees, and coordinates with campus stakeholders to ensure the scheduling of events is not in conflict. This position works with the Director of Athletics on departmental administrative duties that may include NJCAA eligibility and compliance for all sports and covering spring sporting events staffing. Schedules vehicles, performs budgetary and requisition processes, manages pay processes for time sheet, game officials, and event workers, and handles other duties assigned by the Director. Assists in developing new programs and offerings. Develops on and off-campus relationships that support the success of the position. Assists with fundraising and athletic department special events. Provides suggestions to the Athletic Director on program needs. Works within the allocated budget.
    • This position requires working with NJCAA Letters of Intent, eligibility, scheduling, event staffing, budgets and purchase orders. This position will be expected to be involved with set-up for their computation, SID work for their sports and some administration duties. Supports the overall success of the District by performing other duties as assigned.

    Education and Experience: Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s Preferred; Playing experience/college coaching or other coaching experience required.

    Base Wage: $43,000-$53,000 - actual salary will be based on experience and education.
