Metallurgical Engineer designs and initiates processes for the manufacturing of metals from ores and for the operation of the related production equipment. Performs analysis and tests to aid in the development of new and improved metals and alloys as well as their applications to various products. Being a Metallurgical Engineer requires a bachelor's degree in engineering or related field. Typically reports to a supervisor or manager. The Metallurgical Engineer work is closely managed.     Description

    Collins is seeking a highly motivated Entry-Level Engineer to play a key role on our team in Portsmouth, NH. This role will provide the opportunity to work on structural projects, including bridge and ancillary structural inspection, above and below water inspections. There will also be in the field and regional travel. In addition, we offer plenty of opportunities for growth, working with professionals who have decades of experience developing industry-defining techniques.

     

    Your impact on real life projects includes the following but not limited to:
    •    Perform design and inspection/field work that does not require previous experience.
    •    Assist in the completion of inspection and assessment reports.      
    •    Prepare design computations and quantity estimates.
    •    Uses computer assisted engineering and design software and equipment to prepare calculation packages and design drawings.
    •    Has limited communication with clients.
    •    Instructs draftspersons / technicians on design drawings, data entry, and report preparation.

    What we’re looking for:

    • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited four-year university, plus appropriate continuing education
    • 0-4 years of experience.
    • Engineer-In-Training (E.I.T.) or ability to obtain within one year.
